RP PREFERENCES

  • I lean towards organic and long-term stories, letting things happen as they come. It makes the big moments and the deeper bonds more meaningful.

  • Most of my characters are 'low-power'; fairly normal people, at least by Eorzean standards. Mina and Alula are 'medium-power' (or, as I like to call it, 'Krillin-power'). They’re some of the strongest 'normal' people around and can hold their own in a fight against nearly anyone or anything. But a Scion, an Ascian, or a literal god? They're gonna struggle to come up victorious in a fair fight.

  • I enjoy all manner of adventures - whether we're saving the day, grabbing a drink, or fishing for hours. I enjoy Roleplaying, but I also enjoy Game!

  • My RP style is essentially a mirror. I will give what I get. Left to my own devices, I tend to speak as the words hit my mind, the same way I speak IRL; while keeping my actions detailed but concise.

  • Walk-ups and tells (WU/Ts) are always welcome. If it isn't structured content in the game, I'm ready and willing to jump into character.

RATING

  • Swearing and mature language is permitted and used

  • Mild sexual innuendo and references permitted and used

  • Mild violence is permitted

My rating is a baseline for what to expect as a new RP partner, and is subject to change as we grow familiar with each other. If you're ever curious if something is okay or not, ask!Remember, “No” is a complete sentence, and consent can be withdrawn at any time by either party.

GENERAL BOUNDARIES

  • 18+ partners only.

  • My goal is to make friends and write stories together. Anything else that comes of this is a bonus.

  • I enjoy writing romance and more intimate relationships if our characters click, but it's not my main focus. I won't force what I feel is a bad match without a good reason.

  • IC ≠ OOC. My characters aren't me - their views, feelings, opinions, and experiences belong to them.

  • I enjoy dark themes. I have a Berserk tattoo for a reason. But please touch base before we dive into anything that aligns with common content/trigger warnings.

  • I don't believe that character bleed is necessarily a bad thing. Getting invested in a story is one of the highest forms of flattery, in my opinion. But, again: I am not my characters. If bleed begins to impact how you treat myself or others, or you start applying IC dynamics OOC, we're going to have an issue.

DEALBREAKERS (AKA: THE DNI LIST)

  • I have zero tolerance for bigotry, particularly hate speech towards LGBTQ+ identities. I want nothing to do with anyone who holds those views, and neither do my characters.

  • If your main focus is ERP, I'm not your girl. I've had too many bad experiences to write that kind of content with just anyone. If your characters is genuinely interested in one of mine, then put in the work to earn their trust - and mine.

  • If you, OOC, are under 18, I will end contact immediately and permanently. To quote one of my favorite tweets of all time, verbatim: "the fact that i am at risk of seeing a 14 year old's opinion at any time of day on the internet is a human rights violation", and to quote one of my favorite Aqua Teen Hunger Force moments, verbatim: "I am 30 or 40 years old and I do not need this!"

Quick note: I use the 5x5 alignment chart to describe my characters because they exist too often in the grey areas of the traditional 3x3 alignments. Life isn't that simple, and neither are my characters.

About Fairlight

  • OOC: Hi! I'm Olivia (She/Her), a mid-30s transgender woman who really likes video games and telling stories. Real original, I know...

  • I consider myself an RP main at this point, but I do enjoy Savage/Extreme progression, filling out Mina's collectables, making gil, and working through the jump puzzle directory ran by the folks in the Strange Housing community.

  • I'm in the US Eastern time zone, and live just outside Philadelphia (Go Birds). My weekend is Sunday/Monday and my work schedule requires me to be in bed fairly early, so my RP availability can be hard to work with.

  • I’ve been RPing since middle school, when I discovered Gaia Online (really dating myself here). I’ve been actively RPing in FFXIV since shortly after Dawntrail’s release.

  • "Mina" has existed in some form for over 2 decades. The earliest incarnation of her dates back to the opening of the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj in vanilla World of Warcraft - originally a Human Priest named Leni. She was designed to be the idealized version of myself I saw in my head, but was too young and lacked the support network to work through those feelings. Elara Fairlight now carries the responsibility of being the "ideal Liv".

  • The first "Mina" in name was a Human Necromancer in Guild Wars 2 and bore the surname Garnet. She's since been deleted for the character slot - I never got very far with her.

  • I’m a huge Shin Megami Tensei fan, including Persona and Metaphor (which is a Persona game in spirit). Everything about those games is the complete package of what I look for in a single player RPG.

  • Outside of RP, I’m well known in the speedrunning and rhythm game scenes, and have served as a sort of ambassador for rhythm games in speedrunning spaces by being a fixture of the rhythm game block in several marathons with various beatmania IIDX showcases. I am also a member of the Power Up With Pride team, helping mainly with planning the marathon and hosting. In fact, I was given the honor and privilege of being the opening and closing host for Power Up With Pride 2025!
